Audi and Porsche are now scheduled to appear in Formula 1 racing. There had been constant rumors about this for the past 1 year, but on Monday, Volkswagen Group Chief Executive Officer Herbert Diess confirmed this during an event in Wolfsburg, Germany. He has said that - Audi and Porsche have already been allowed to enter Formula 1 for the Volkswagen Group.
Dias has said that after lengthy discussions, the board of Directors of the brand now feels that joining Formula 1 is going to cost profits.
While Audi is expected to try to buy the existing McLaren, Porsche's goal would be to enter as an engine maker. According to Dias, the eyes are now on changes to the rules planned for 2026. In the future, new cars are planned to run on synthetic fuel.
Porsche is already beginning to invest heavily in synthetic fuels to boost the longevity of its car 911. The rule change will also mean that all teams are starting from the same position, giving Porsche and Audi a better chance of being competitive.
