Jayalalithaa's biopic, titled Thalaivi, will hit theaters on April 23. Before the film is released, its producers are set to release their trailer today, which will mark the 34th anniversary of the birth of its lead actor Kangana Ranaut. The Thalaivi caravan comes a day after Kangana received the National Film Award for his performances in Manikarnika and Panga. This is his fourth National Award.

Kangana got 20kgs to get into the skin of the actor-turned-politician Jayalalithaa. For the actor, the film is ‘his most outstanding project’. Earlier he mentioned how he did his best to get Jayalalitha's character out of perfection. Taking to Twitter, Kangana wrote, “I played the first superhuman girl on the Indian screen, because of my body, an unusual combination of glowing but firm looks. In my 30s, I was supposed to get 20 kgs from Ithalaivi and do Bharatanatyam, leaving my back badly injured but there is no greater joy than playing a role in perfection. ”
In an interview, thalaivi director AL Vijay opened up about his approach to the Kangana Ranaut actor. He said, “Our biopic aims to celebrate madam Jayalalithaa. At the same time, we aim to give the audience a good sense of cinema. She was a heroic woman, and her story deserves to be told. The film was written by KV Vijayendra Prasad sir, author of Baahubali and Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. As a group, we know that the screen dynamics of the life of the famous footballers are moving in the right direction - what should not be shown. Thanks forever to J Deepak, the nephew of madam Jayalalithaa, who gave us the ‘green mark’. ”
thalaivi was awarded the official biopic title, and the makers received the 'No Objection Certificate' from the nephew of the late Prime Minister Deepak Jayakumar.
Director Vijay, Arvind Swami, Samuthirakani, Thambi Ramaiah, GV Prakash Kumar, Madhan Karky, Vijayendra Prasad, and Vishnu Vardhan Indhuri were all present at the event.

"Kangan Ranaut will receive a National Award for Thalaivi next year. Director Vijay is a visionary, and this is the first time I've worked on a film with such great attention to detail."

During the Thalaivi Trailer launch event, screenwriter Vijayendra Prasad said.

Kangana Ranaut's birthday was spent with the Thalaivi cast.

thalaivi follows in the footsteps of actor and politician Jayalalithaa's journey from film to politics. Also starring Arvind Swami as MG Ramachandran, Prakash Raj as M Karunanidhi, Jisshu Sengupta as Sobhan Babu and Bhagyashree as Jayalalithaa's mother Sandhya, a multilingual film produced by Vishnu Vardhan and Shailesh R Singh. Directed by AL Vijay and written by renowned author KV Vijayendra Prasad. Pooorna and Madhoo played an important role in the film.
