Uddhav Thackeray has issued a stern warning to hotels, shopping malls and members of the general public that Maharashtra could be shut down if people do not follow the rules and comply with the rules. This comes as the state has seen the detection of COVID-19 infections recording more than 15,000 cases and 88 deaths a day.

A day after Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray issued a stern warning to the public to follow Covid-19 procedures or face one more lockdown, requesting citizens to be following the rules.
The media visited three locations in Mumbai - Bandra, Dadar, Prabhadevi - and spoke to senior staff members who watched and acted on citizens who did not wear masks.
At Bandra station, a journalist spoke to a manager working with Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport. The supervisor said, "We do not allow people without masks to get on the buses. People understand and most of them wear masks and follow the guidelines".
At the Dadar station, manager Unmesh Rane and his team fined passengers, vendors and shopkeepers for not wearing masks. "Our aim is not to collect fines but to raise awareness. We provide masks to those who do not have. People are following Covid's guidelines and there are few people who do not have masks. It must be followed in the next 14 days to avoid another corona wave in Maharashtra," Rane said.
Hotels and shopping malls urged to follow the rules
Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on March 13 ordered hotels and restaurants in the province to ensure strict adherence to COVID-19 procedures on their premises and not to force the State to impose drastic measures such as lockdonn closure.
Speaking at a meeting attended by representatives of hotel and restaurant associations, shopping groups, CM said the "unprofessional" situation regarding the outbreak has only recently taken place.
“Don't force us to impose strict rules on the ban. Think of this as a final warning. Follow all the rules. Everyone must realize that there is a difference between self-discipline and boundaries restrictions, ”said Mr Thackeray.
Vaccinations continue in the state
A total of 26,89,922 people have been vaccinated against coronavirus in Maharashtra so far, a health official said on Saturday. On Friday alone, 2,54,956 people were given doses, the highest number of vaccinations in the country so far, he said.
"The data was compiled on Saturday as most immunization centers were in operation until late at night on Friday," he said.
A total of 26,89,922 people have been vaccinated so far in the province, 3,73,317 have received their second dose again, and the rest have received their first dose, the official said.
